Country Elopement Wedding Inspiration

Wedding + Engagement

Last summer my beautiful cousin and her husband agreed to model for me during a styled country elopement shoot near Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. As we were coming up on Téa and Travis's fourth wedding anniversary, they had already been through the whole 'wedding portraits' thing, but were still a little nervous. They married in a small chapel in December. The air was freezing cold and there was snow covering the ground. I enjoyed reminiscing on their real big day as we recreated a very different version of what their wedding could have been.

As seen published in Bold and Beautiful Magazine.

We started on the hill overlooking miles of fields. I laid down a few rugs, a blanket, tapestry, and other furniture to add to the relaxed, free spirited, country feel as well as help make them more comfortable.

Then, we had some fun with a few movement based poses. These photos always turn out so unique to each couple which is just one of many reasons I always prompt these.

Then, a few more portraits utilizing the wind, scenery, bouquet, and their love for each other. I found the beautiful dried flower bouquet with pampas grass and eucalyptus on Etsy.

I also ordered this AMAZING cake from Oh Sheet! Cakes out of Cedar Rapids, (owned by the sweet Bre Lindsey). Not only did she perfect my vision of sweet and simple with a touch of color, but it was also delicious to say the least.

All in all I'm over the moon with the results of this shoot! The styling, colorful edits, and location would have made for a picture perfect country wedding elopement near Prairie du Chien, WI. Thanks again to Téa and Travis for helping me bring this vision to life!
