Last summer I had the privilege of photographing Chloe and Jarrett's intimate wedding, which they hosted in their backyard in Ricine, Wisconsin. Their son, Jasper, along with their closest family and friends joined them on their big day. At the time of their wedding, I was living in Marion, Iowa, and traveling. Although each couple and family I photograph holds a special place in my heart, The Champagnes' story is extraordinary as they were my first Wisconsin clients, and little did I know I would ironically be moving to Wisconsin about 7 months after their wedding day.
Now, we are living only a couple hours apart, and have since shot with them again!

This spring, almost a year later, I was able to capture the Champagne Family growing by one.
Although we all live in Wisconsin, Chloe chose the Dubuque Arboretum in Dubuque, Iowa for our session. We were able to enjoy the foliage, pond, fish, bridges, and more, even though we beat the spring blooms by a month or so.
We started with this stone bench near the beginning of the walking path, the family sitting side by side laughing.
We then headed down toward the pond, a deep green/blue pool stocked with enough neon orange little fish to entertain a little boy for atleast 10 minutes as we took some portraits of just mom and dad.
We were also able to incoorporate a couple of other meaningful items into our shoot: Ezra's newborn shoes as well as his ultrasound.
We also took some time to focus on big brother, as he is taking his promotion very seriously! Jasper is such a sweet boy I know he will make a great role model for baby Ezra. He read me a book (How to be a Big Brother) And showed off his sign stating his new title.
Lastly, we enjoyed this neat wooden bridge toward the end of the path, the family throwing kisses, hugs, and love all around.
